If you haven't yet come across Aevi wellness then you're in for a treat, Aevi (a- vee) comes from Old Norse language meaning life. Founders Natalie and Marie have created something really beautiful, a seasonal box of products to nourish mind and body. Their intention: To create a physical space for self-love and rituals. Each beautifully curated box is focused upon the transitions of each season.
There are many beautiful businesses I support and love but Aevi stands out for me, I adore everything about it. Perhaps it's because it's a collection of brands that I already love and would personally choose or the beautifully designed, styled and curated brand, the heart centred words or maybe it's because I could feel the energy that went into the box.
The founders Natalie and Marie kindly agreed to answer some of the questions I had about Aevi and this seasons box.
I've never really been tempted by any weekly / monthly box before, until I found yours. Each one is so beautifully and thoughtfully curated. What inspires you to choose the brands that you do?
Natalie + Marie: We source all our products foremost for their pure ingredients and unique potent formulations. Beyond the product, we look to the brand. We do our best to understand their ethos and make sure their values align with our own. Whilst our search is always very organic, we focus on three things- purity, potency and intention.
Do you have a favourite product in this Springs box? What's your favourite way to incorporate it into your daily routine?
Natalie: For me, it's our granola collaboration made with Qnola. I know you've tried it so you can maybe share in my tummy rumbling when I describe the vanilla, cardamom and cinnamon spices. I eat it with coconut yoghurt for my cosy breakfasts on the weekend but most of all I always have a small sachet in my bag, it's very balancing (the flavour and nutrients) so is perfect on the go whether I'm out in the park walking my dog or travelling home on the tube.
Marie: Karmameju's Ionic Body Brush - This has been with me since I found it in a small beauty shop in Copenhagen several years ago. I love waking my body up with long strokes, moving the energy from my toes to to the crown of my head. It leaves me feeling energised and refreshed - ready to start the day!
Self care is such an essential component of wellness but something many people still find challenging. Do you have any advice or words of wisdom for people who find it difficult to do?
Natalie + Marie: We both think of self care as self love, these two are kind of reversible. We need to always be reminded that neither of these are intended to be selfish or about the ego, rather it's your safe space where you surrender to your biggest needs. Listening to your body here is key, it's what will guide your practice and help you if you have no idea what to do or where to start. Then, and only then can you really interact with more strength, attunement and love than ever before.
What's the best advice you've ever received regarding health and wellness?
Marie: Be mindful and learn to listen to your body and intuition. My mother taught me to trust myself from an early age and it's true, if you're honestly listening and watching there's always something giving you signs which will lead you in the right direction.
Natalie: She said it, It's all within you - there is strength in love and both you were made with.
What are you most grateful for?
Marie: All the love and support in my life that I receive from my family and small Aevi team, motivating me and supporting me everyday to do the best I can. Without them I would never have been able to embark on a career that enables me to do what I love every single day.
Natalie: Many things but at this point in time, I'd say my darling Marie, whom I spend everyday with for reasons beyond work. She challenges me with her love and accepts me with her tenderness. She is what I perceive as the North Star of Aevi.
One of the really lovely things about Aevi is that the individual items are available to purchase separately if you don't want to invest in the seasonal box (although I would highly recommend that you do). You can find all the offerings alongside beautiful images and beautifully flowing words that inspire and encourage you to take just that little bit of extra time and care for yourself.
