Autumn has arrived and with that comes the chillier weather and cold season. I was caught out with a cold but managed to eliminate it in a few days with the following remedies.
Elderflower | Peppermint +Yarrow tea
I was given this tea remedy by a naturopath whilst I was in the middle of my nutrition studies and full of a heavy cold. It worked wonders, so now these herbs are a staple in my cupboard.
Dried yarrow herb | Dried peppermint | Dried Elderflower
Use a teaspoon of the blended herbs and add to a cup / mug of boiling water. Steep for 5 minutes and enjoy. This blend is effective at supporting the body to eliminate the cold infection naturally.
Great at strengthening the immune system, when I feel a little run down this is my first go to. There are so many variations of how you can include it into your diet, I normally 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of Chaga powder to hot water, a little nut milk and local honey.
Looking after your gut and plenty of rest are non negotiables but in the meantime I've been enjoying this fiery ginger cordial from Salutations Studio (with the addition of some fresh turmeric and black pepper added to their recipe)
